Saturday, November 27, 2010 is the first-ever Small Business Saturday, a day and movement dedicated to driving shoppers to support the local businesses that help boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. The Charles Nolan shop at 30 Gansevoort Street is a neighborhood store that is independently owned and even produces some of the styles you know and love right here in New York City. This beautiful mesh wrap bracelet designed by Nancy Bacich is currently available for purchase at Fragments.com, and during the month of October, 100% of the proceeds will benefit Women At Risk, a cause that educates and supports women who are at high risk for breast cancer.

The Gond exhibition presents a selection of paintings by three contemporary artists. Going beyond their traditional themes of forests and animals, they have used their vivid imagination to interpret New York City. The Gond style of tribal art creates eye-catching textures and patterns using dots, lines and curves. Each artist has his own distinctive style of patterning. Join Charles and Radhika as they present over 40 works by these artists and tell the story of their collaboration.
The Gond exhibition will run at the Charles Nolan shop through October 31.

To all of Charles Nolan’s loyal friends and fans, it is with a heavy heart that we share some sad news with you. Charles passed away Sunday morning ever so peacefully with dignity and style — just as he lived every day of his life. Please join us in celebration of the extraordinary life Charles led.
